Bladderwrack is one of the highest iodine containing sea vegetables we know.  Iodine is a critical nutrient for our thyroid, found to be lacking in many western diets and our body cannot make thyroid hormones without sufficient levels of it.

We need to consume iodine regularly via our diet or supplements because our body is unable to store it for long periods of time.

Bladderwrack is highly bioavailable and reacts with TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).  It also known to stimulate metabolism and is a natural diuretic.  Being rich in beta-carotene, a plant rich vitamin A, bladderwrack has a light-absorbing mechanism and is able to absorb blue-green to yellow-green colours of light, which helps protect our vision.

Iodine levels are vital in preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding, supporting our baby’s neural development.

If you are taking prescription medications, especially for thyroid disorders, please consult your healthcare professional before using this product.

If you have an iodine allergy, avoid consuming bladderwrack.
