What is Naturopathic Nutrition?
Naturopathic nutrition expresses the importance of whole and organic foods as medicine. It is a system of healthcare that promotes our own self-healing mechanism, using various therapies such as, Nutrition, herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Detoxification, Fasting and Ayurveda among others.
The body is a whole organism, functioning as one and disease can be complex, involving many different strategies. We always look at the whole person to find the underlying cause of a disease, not just the symptoms. Every person is individual and requires a personalised approach to restore health.
The Naturopathic Principles are:
- The healing power of nature
- Treat the cause not the symptoms
- Treat the whole person
- Prevention is preferable to cure
Symptoms are messages from our bodies to take care of ourselves.
I use whole food as medicine, Ayurvedic principals, herbs and lifestyle changes and food state supplements, to help you take back the power to improve your own health.
Acute illness is treated effectively by our medical system, but chronic conditions require longer term holistic care, not found in our current medical system.
Our food industry is not interested in health and our health industry pays no attention to food. We must change the way we care for those with chronic illness. Our body is a self-healing machine and relying on ‘quick fix’ strategies for our health, is no longer serving us. Diseased cells can’t live in a healthy body and health begins with being mindful of food and what we are putting into our body.
Our health is an investment, if you believe health’s expensive, try illness.
Make time for your health, or make time for your illness.
